COACHING STAFF UPDATE: Red Sox Manager John Farrell announced on Friday that he has been diagnosed with Stage 1 Lymphoma…While he is on medical leave, Bench Coach Torey Lovullo will serve as interim manager.
· In addition, beginning today Bullpen Coach Dana LeVangie will serve as interim bench coach, and Triple-A Pawtucket Pitching Coach Bob Kipper will serve as interim bullpen coach (No. 77).image

THE SERIES THAT WAS: Boston and Seattle combined for 66 runs, 98 hits, and 44 extra-base hits in their 3-game series that ended yesterday…The Sox won 15-1 on Friday night and 22-10 on Saturday, and lost 8-10 yesterday.
· Boston’s 60 hits are the most for any team in a 3-game series since the 1950 Red Sox had 62 hits against the St. Louis Browns from 6/7-9 at Fenway Park…The Sox’ 45 runs are the club’s most in a 3-game set since the 2003 Sox also scored 45 runs against the Marlins from 6/27-29.
· According to STATS Inc., the 44 extra-base hits marked the 2nd-highest combined total for any 2 teams in a 3-game series over the last 100 years…The only 3-game set since 1914 that featured more took place from 7/12-13/31 (Cubs at Cardinals, 45 XBH).

JACKIE’S EXTRA EFFORTS: Jackie Bradley Jr.’s last 7 hits have gone for extra bases, including a double yesterday, 5 XBH on Saturday (3 2B, 2 HR), and a double on Friday night.
· His 7 XBH in the series were the most by any Red Sox player in a single series since Dwight Evans had 7 XBH from 8/12-14/88 vs. DET (4 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR).
