No Longer Streaking – The Pawtucket Red Sox snapped their 11-game losing streak and won for the first time since Sunday, August 2nd with a stirring 7-6 win in 10 innings Friday night in Allentown. Pawtucket endured an 11-game losing streak as well as an 8-game losing skid in about a three week span (the PawSox dropped 11 straight August 3-13 and 8 in a row from July 19-26). The Sox had a season-high 12-game losing streak from June 29 – July 10 which ended one shy of their club-record 13-game losing streak in 1985.

This Series – The PawSox will face Lehigh Valley 8 more times over their final 25 games including three times in the next 25 hours. Game 1 today is a make-up from a July 9th rainout at Lehigh Valley. The teams will conclude the series on Sunday at 1:35 pm in what will be Pawtucket’s final game in Allentown, PA this season. The Sox and IronPigs will face each other for a 3-game series next weekend at McCoy (August 21-23) and then again on September 1st & 2nd to begin Pawtucket’s final homestand of the year.

It Hurts to Have to Tell You – The PawSox have lost 14 of 17 and 22 of their last 27 games overall. They have dropped 10 of their last 11 at home and 24 of their last 29 away games. In a 61⁄2-week span since June 29 the PawSox are 7-36 to go from 38-39 (3rd- place, -5 GB) to 45-75 (last-place, -231⁄2 GB). Their season-high 231⁄2-game deficit is their furthest since they ended the 2002 season in 5th-place and -31 GB.

One Off A Season Low – The PawSox (now 45-75 on the year) are 30 games under the .500 mark – their lowest level in 30 years since they ended the 1985 season with a 48-91 record (43-games below .500). The Sox dipped below the .500 mark this June 4 for the first time in almost a full calendar year since June 25, 2014. The 2015 PawSox peaked at a season-high 8-games above .500 at 18-10 on May 7 (1st-place by 2-games). They are 27-65 since.

That 70’s Show – Pawtucket has lost 75 games this season (most in the league). It is already their most defeats in a season since 2010 when they finished with 78 losses (66-78) – the last time they finished below .500. The PawSox have had a great run during the past four years as they have made the playoffs all four years, the Governors’ Cup Finals the last three years in a row, and won the Cup in both 2012 and 2014. Their loss total during the past four seasons is 65 (2014), 63 (2013), 65 (2012), and 61 (2011).

Pawtucket’s worst season in the New McCoy Stadium (opened in 1999) came in 2002 when they finished 60-84 and 31-games out. The franchise- record for most losses in a season is 91 set in 1985 when the PawSox were 48-91 (.345 winning pct.).
