PAW SOX HOPE TO TAKE THEIR SERIES WITH GWINNETT TODAY

JUNE 28th GWINNETT (37-37) at PAWTUCKET (37-39) 1:05 pm

Gwinnett Braves LHP Greg Smith (2-3, 2.49) vs. Pawtucket Red Sox RHP Joe Kelly (NR)

See You in July – The Pawtucket Red Sox and the Gwinnett Braves play the rubber game of their 3-game weekend series this afternoon at 1:05 pm at McCoy Stadium as the PawSox play their final home game in the month of June. The PawSox will return to McCoy this coming Thursday to host Scranton/Wilkes-Barre for their annual holiday firework games on Thursday (July 2nd) and Friday (July 3rd) both at 6:15 pm with fireworks to follow each game at McCoy. Pawtucket will close out the month of June in Rochester this week as they play two games tomorrow night, a single game on Tuesday (to finish off the month), and an afternoon game on Wednesday (to begin July) before returning home on Thursday. Pawtucket has only 11 home games in the entire month of July and, in fact, they play only 11 home games after today between June 29 – August 5 (compared to 24 road games during that stretch).

PAW SOX LOGOEncore – The PawSox – who won 2 of 3 at Gwinnett last Friday through Sunday – will look to accomplish that same feat today after splitting the first two games against the Braves here this weekend. Gwinnett got the jump in this series with a 1-0 victory Friday night despite a 9-inning CG gem from PawSox starter Steven Wright. Last night the Sox snapped a 6th-inning tie thanks to a 3-run HR by Sean Coyle en route to a 7-3 triumph. The 7-3 margin marked Pawtucket’s largest victory in nearly three weeks since they won at Syracuse on June 7, 7-2.
