Patriots Young Receivers to be Tested Sunday with Injuries Mounting

FOXBORO, MA- With a 6-4 Dallas Cowboys team coming into Gillette Stadium on Sunday, the Patriots and their young receiving core will face a tough challenge with some veterans missing.

At 9-1, the New England Patriots may be the most disrespected nine-win team throughout the first ten weeks of the season that the NFL has ever seen. Coming in as the 16th ranked offense in the entire league, Tom Brady and the Patriots have been under much scrutiny for not having a high powered offense. With two veteran wide receivers expected to be out on Sunday, rookie wideouts will have to step up in order for this lackluster offense to win.

Mohamed Sanu out with an ankle sprain and Phillip Dorsett going through concussion protocol, rookies N’Keal Harry and Jakobi Meyers will look to be two viable options for Brady. Harry and Meyers will be paired with veterans Julian Edelman and Ben Watson as receiving threats. Expect running back James White to get a lot of targets out of the backfield as well.

Listed as questionable on the Patriots injury report, Tom Brady is dealing with an elbow injury himself. More precautionary than anything else, all signs are pointing to the six-time super bowl champion playing Sunday afternoon.

With all excuses to roll over and drop this one at home, the Patriots’ depth, strategy and pure desire to prove themselves will be a huge difference-maker vs. the Cowboys. New England will look for its 17th consecutive home regular-season win on Sunday at 4:25 EST.
