Krejci…”we win as a team, we lose as a team”

BOSTON BRUINS FORWARD DAVID KREJCI
On the game tonight…
Yeah a couple penalties, but it happens in the game. They got a good power play unit and we didn’t do a good enough job to, you know, keep them off the score sheets on the power play. They got two in the second period within I don’t know, one or two minutes, and after that it was tough to come back.

On Claude Julien saying he’s not getting the full commitment from everyone in the dressing room and if he agrees…
Maybe a little bit, but you know we’re a team here – we win as a team, we lose as a team. If there’s something that has to be addressed it will be tomorrow. But like I said, we win as a team and we lose as a team.

On what he thinks they will do between now and Thursday night’s game to fix any issues…
Well, we have a lot to talk about. We play another good team from the west [Thursday] so we have to stay out of the penalty box and, you know, obviously work a little bit on our PK [penalty kill]. But you know, other than that we have to play a full 60 minutes, you know. And I don’t think we did that today; I didn’t think we played a smart 60 minutes. So we’re going to have to correct that and play 60 minutes on Thursday.

On how disappointing it would be if there is in fact a lack of a commitment…
I mean for us a player it’s a little different than coaches and people on top, you know. Sometimes you come on the bench, you’re tired, and you try to regroup. So a couple times you know you…it’s hard to pay attention as much as…it’s much easier up top, you know. So if coach thinks there’s a lack of commitment then he’s probably right and we’ll address it tomorrow.

On if he can tell from game to game what this team is going to do…
We know what we should do but it’s like a rollercoaster, you know. One or two games really good, one or two games really bad. So we have to figure it out how to play a full 60 minutes every night. We might not win every game but, you know, if you’re going to play the right way for 60 minutes then you’ll come out on top most of the nights.

On following some good games with some bad games and if it’s a trend…
Yeah and you know what? Even though that the first period I thought it was a decent period it wasn’t perfect, but it was still enough. Second period, you know, those kind of two quick goals, the power play goals, kind of put us back on our heels and then we kind of had a hard time regrouping. But came out strong in the third, got a goal, and weren’t able to get a fifth one.

On what Claude Julien means by having to come in and fix things in the dressing room…
We’ll see tomorrow.

On the fifth time in nine games that the Bruins have allowed five goals or more at home…
Yeah but I wouldn’t blame the goalie or defense. It’s all forwards, D and goalies all together, you know. So like I said, we win as a team lose as a team. Mostly, like you said, five times out of nine we got scored lots of goals a game so we’re going to have to correct this part of our game. And you know if we don’t do that then we’ll be playing a couple good games a couple bad games it just keeps going and then we’ll be battling for playoffs. So we have to correct it before it’s too late and, you know, we’re going to talk about it tomorrow I guess.

On if it’s difficult to find solutions because it’s not what this team has ever been about before…
Yeah I mean, we’ve done it before. Like I said we can put a couple good games in a row, you know, but for some reason we just can’t keep it up, you know. So I don’t know what it is. But I’m a hockey player so let’s see how we can figure this thing out.
