BOSTON, MA – Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today,
January 6, that the team has recalled forward Justin Florek from Providence on
an emergency basis (American Hockey League).  Florek made his NHL debut on  Saturday, January 4 against the Winnipeg Jets after being recalled earlier that  day.

Florek has skated in 35 games this season with Providence, registering nine  goals and 13 assists for 22 points with a plus-12 rating (tied for the team  lead).

In total, the 23-year-old forward has skated in 114 AHL games with the
Providence Bruins (2012-14), accruing 22 goals and 31 assists with a combined 27 rating.  In the 2013 AHL postseason, Florek appeared in 12 games for  Providence and tallied 1-2=3 totals.

Prior to joining the Providence Bruins, Florek played for four seasons (2008-12)  at Northern Michigan University, where he skated in 157 collegiate games,  recording 54 goals and 63 assists.  Florek was named captain of the Wildcats his  senior season.

The 6’4”, 199-pound native of Marquette, MI was drafted by Boston in the fifth  round (135th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
