On what it was like yesterday dealing with the range of emotions…
The same as everybody else. When those things happen in your city it’s a normal thing to be a little bit, obviously, concerned, and like everybody else, extremely happy when they finally got the second suspect. At least we could all breath a little easier and sleep a little easier. And now it’s, hopefully, time to work ourselves into trying to get things back to normal again, but it will always leave a scar somewhere. There’s some damage done, but now we have a job today, and that unfortunately is what our responsibility is.

On what time he got word last night that this game would be played…
I don’t remember. There was so much going on yesterday, I don’t remember what time.

On if he was watching the coverage on TV…
Yes, I did the same thing. I was glued in front of the TV all day.

On his team’s role today…
Well, same as the team we’re going to play against. There’s no way of going out there and using excuses, more than if it bothers us it’s got to bother the other team. It happened in our city, but it’s affected everybody around the world. Like I said, we’re glad that they caught the suspects and now it’s time to let them do our work and time for us to do ours.

On what he says to the team before the game to get the focus back on hockey…
I think you’ve got to focus on the game, so we talked about what we needed to do tonight to go out there and play a real solid game and hopefully win. That was our conversation.

On if he has begun to wrap his head around how to approach the six games in nine days to end the season…
Well, obviously it’s on your mind the minute you see what the schedule is like. We’re going to certainly have to, I guess, maneuver through that very carefully and, like I said the other day, it’s a balance of, hopefully, being able to win games and at the same time rest some guys. We’re going to have to deal with it the best way we can.

On if today it helps to have been though such an emotional game on Wednesday…
Well, yeah, we can stand here and realize what has happened here in the last week, it’s going to be here for a while. There’s going to be some emotion and somehow, like I said, you control them and go out there and say, ‘you know, I have a job to do.’ We’ve got to do it just like we did the other night. The score didn’t indicate how good I thought we played because we had lots of scoring chances, I mean lots of scoring chances. There’s a goaltender [Ryan Miller] that did a good job on the other side and took away that glory from us from winning a hockey game. The one thing I was disappointed in the other night was the outcome, but the rest I tip my hat to the players for how they handled themselves and how hard they played.
