The Boston Bruins have now played 7 periods of hockey and have very little to show from it. And while the season is VERY early, this young Bruins team is facing a bit of a crisis heading into the middle period this afternoon, tied 2-2 with the Boltz.
The Bruins grabbed a 2-0 lead on a pair of PP goals (Krejci and Ericsson) but gave the lead away when TB scored twice late in the period.
Any confidence the Bruins had built quickly exited the building. Another goalie interference call against Patrice Bergeron (his second in two games) set the stage for a TB PP goal.
Claude Julien pointed out in his pre-game presser that he liked how his team had competed. He’s going to need to see a great deal more of that if Boston is to take any points away from this game before heading out on the road for two games.
This second period will tell us a lot about where the 2015-16 Bruins team is. Do they fold under the pressure or rebound after two-straight TB goals and take back the momentum ?
Heading out on the round point-less after 3 home games may be more than this team can handle. Points are a must today !
