BRUINS ASSIGN FORWARDS ALEXANDER KHOKHLACHEV AND SETH GRIFFITH TO PROVIDENCE BRUINS; RECALL DEFENSEMAN COLIN MILLER
BOSTON – Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, January 2, that the club has assigned forwards Alexander Khokhlachev and Seth Griffith to the Providence Bruins (American Hockey League) and has recalled defenseman Colin Miller.
Khokhlachev skated in one game with the Bruins after being recalled on December 31. This season, he has skated in five games with Boston. The 22-year-old has appeared in nine games in a Bruins uniform in his NHL career. This season in Providence, Khokhlachev has played in 22 games, tallying nine goals (tied for third on the team) and 16 assists (second on the team) for 25 points (second on the team).
The 5’10”, 181-pound native of Moscow, Russia was drafted by the Bruins in the second round (40th overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
Griffith skated in two games with Boston since being recalled on December 29, tallying one assist. Last year, Griffith skated in 30 games with the Bruins, including his NHL debut on October 13, 2014 against the Colorado Avalanche. In total, he has amassed six goals and four assists for 10 points in his career with Boston.
