On Friday night, a Globe photographer was not allowed to cover Tom Brady’s Best Buddies football game at Harvard Stadium as he was turned away and escorted to his car.
Many assumed it was connected to the Globe publishing a piece in April where it revealed Best Buddies has given Brady’s charitable fund $3.25 million over the years. The report went on to say Brady’s fund has only received money from Best Buddies.
A day later, Best Buddies is apologizing and saying Brady had nothing to do with it.
“I’m sorry that it happened,” Nicole Maddox, a rep for Best Buddies International, told the Globe. “It’s unfortunate that it happened. Tom Brady had nothing to do with it.”
It was apparently a “misunderstanding” related to credentialing.
“It’s 100 percent not related [to the prior Globe story],” Maddox said.
Multiple Patriots attended the game Friday including Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola, Dion Lewis and James White.
