HANLEY RAMIREZ (2-for-3, R, BB, HR, 2 RBI) hit his 26th home run of the season in the 4th inning, his 2nd straight game with a HR…Has 6 home runs in his last 9 games, 9 in his last 16, and 10 in his last 19…Had RBI hits in 3 consecutive at-bats over 5 innings (9th-inning HR last night, 1st-inning RBI single, 4th-inning HR).
· The Red Sox have won the last 10 games in which he has driven in a run, and 20 of the last 26…Leads the major leagues with 40 RBI since 8/11 (31 games)…Has a .417/.500/.917/1.417 line in 44 plate appearances with RISP since that date.
DAVID ORTIZ (2-for-3, R, BB, 2B, RBI) hit his ML-leading 47th double of the season in the 6th…Was his 1,187th career XBH, passing Frank Robinson for 11th-most in MLB history…Was also his 54th extra-base hit at home this season, most by any ML hitter since Alfonso Soriano in 2005 (54)…Since 1913, only 2 Red Sox hitters have had more home XBH in a single season (Jimmie Foxx, 59 in 1938; Fred Lynn, 58 in 1979)…Is batting .390 (16-for-41) with 8 XBH and 13 RBI in 12 September games.
